This role supports delivery of a Category Design Strategy that keeps Tu clothing relevant for all its customers. You will be obsessed with delivering product to surprise, delight and exceed our customers’ expectations, ensuring a consistent approach in all our channels. You will do this by supporting the Senior Designer and Designer, providing creative support in the creation and development of innovative product ranges for the Tu Clothing customer base. As an Assistant Designer you'll: Be responsible for supporting the Design team with development and delivery of the Category Design Strategy. Assisting with preparation for Seasonal Intent, formulating trend and colour boards, and all required research needed to achieve this. Support the Designers to design products and assist in the completion of design spec sheets and packs. Have awareness of the strategic direction for the design department. Understand material swatch library management, working with the Sample Coordination team to manage all bought inspiration samples. You’ll also have experience of Colour management of Pantones and Sainsbury's colour standards. Assist designers in formulating concept, colour and trend boards for presentations and meetings. Seeking out inspiration from external sources and resources e.g., trend books, trade fairs, inspirational shops, museums, galleries etc as well as desktop research. Be responsible for the creation of project briefs. Maintain and update colour/theme/trend and bay boards for relevant meetings. Send design packs to relevant suppliers directly or through liaising with our Asia Design/Global Sourcing teams, ensuring all critical path dates are met. Be a champion for sustainability through both how we do things and the product we deliver. Know our customer – design with the customer at the heart of every product decision. Work with customer profile boards and understand when shifts occur. Our Footwear and Accessories Design team would love to see: Experience using Outlook, Word, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator. Brilliant prioritisation and organisation Understanding of the broader UK market, seeking new opportunities that create competitive advantage. Continual professional development and exhibit a deep passion for continuous learning and seek to provide and share knowledge widely. An effective communicator and team player. Ability to use 3D software is beneficial. Work experience within a design studio is beneficial.
