Job Responsibilities:
- As the Engineering Team Coach, you’ll act as the liaison between engineering and operations, providing technical assistance and guidance to the shift manager.
- Reporting directly to the Maintenance Team Leader and ultimately the Engineering Manager, you will own numerous accountabilities to ensure the smooth running of Automation within Cardiff Mail Centre. Working on the late shift, your hours will be Monday 14:00-22:00 and Tuesday to Friday 14:00-21:30 with some flexibility required.
- Primarily, you will be tasked with ensuring all relevant Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to by your Maintenance Team. You will also support the team in all areas on a day-to-day basis by providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to resolve engineering automation issues.
- Being able to lead your team on complex fault diagnosis and engineering maintenance tasks to defined standards is important to us, as is your ability to implement these in a cost-effective manner. You will also lead and co-ordinate the implementation of maintenance activities across the team, ensuring the performance and availability of the automation equipment is sustained in support of the 24hr operation.
Job Requirements:
- Leading Maintenance Teams or similar groups, ideally with experience of managing through a period of considerable change with investments in new technology
- Ability to coach and mentor Maintenance personnel
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Previous work supporting and developing a maintenance engineering team
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of automation equipment and its maintenance requirements
- Leadership experience gained within a technical environment, managing both personnel and resources to achieve maintenance plans to expected standards
- HNC qualification or equivalent in engineering
