About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join us on initial 12 months fixed term contract basis (3 days from home and 2 days from the office). You will be responsible for activities in preparation for key reporting periods including the Year End and Half Year, delivering month end reporting, owning the management accounts and will have an awareness of Segmental rules.

The Finance Manager should challenge submissions from the wider finance team.

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Working with the SFM to lead the activities relevant to the Year End processes on behalf of Accounting, setting up the team for success, close collaboration with the External Reporting team, ensuring any interim audit requests are quickly dealt with

  • Assisting the SFM with the Month end process

  • Improving the monthly reporting cadence

  • Providing completed external reporting (including Stat Accounts, Disclosures, regulatory reporting) to other Finance Teams such as External Reporting

  • Production of the Group Management Accounts and flash P&L with awareness of Segmental rules

  • Ensuring the wider accounting team adheres to group accounting policy (set by the in-house technical team) and IFRS, converting from local accounting practices (e.g. US GAAP) where appropriate substantiating account/general ledger balances and providing first level commentary

About you

  • Ability to hit the ground running

  • Experienced leadership of a global financial operations environment with a track record of delivering effectiveness, efficiency and compliance targets / SLAs

  • Relevant financial qualifications (ACA/ACCA) and understanding of relevant regulatory environments

  • In depth understanding of core financial processes and relevant systems (Oracle Fusion, FCCS, EPBCS)
