Our teams are putting the world’s retailers online using the cloud, robotics, AI, and IoT. We provide services to partner clients globally via our innovative advanced robotics technology, known as the Ocado Smart Platform (“OSP”), this drives our highly automated, multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs). About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology content creator to ideate, develop and deliver high-impact narratives to maximise Ocado Technology’s engagement with its key audiences and stakeholders on a global scale.

The Content Lead will be responsible for building our content strategy and creating an editorial calendar of impactful content closely aligned with business objectives. The Content Lead will work closely with teams across Engineering, Product, Intellectual Property, Investor Relations, Communications and Marketing to create compelling short and long-form content that hits strategic needs. Examples include blogs, videos, social media, web content, messaging documents, etc.

The successful candidate will have a track record in senior technology communications or content roles, either in-house or at a communications/creative agency.

Please note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract

You will be:

  • Developing a content plan based on our core strategic themes, amplifying the reach and impact of existing and new related assets, and leveraging a variety of formats and channels for achieving our strategic communications, employer branding and thought leadership goals.

  • Establishing external debate on key technology competencies and innovations such as additive manufacturing, robotic fulfilment and autonomous mobility

  • Creating original content campaigns that target specific tech talent audiences and meet company goals

  • Establishing the Ocado Technology employer brand – to include the development of core asset creation around our unique culture and values

  • Enable our content processes and ways of working. Supporting the wider comms team in researching, reporting, assembling and producing content in different formats and various digital platforms

  • Guiding and reviewing content the team comms creates, ensuring we maintain goals, brand identity, impact and value

  • Leading and deploying content and campaign ideas – including multi-platform, multimedia treatments.

We’re looking for:

  • Proven editorial experience in: impactful content generation, development and deployment across a variety of formats and platforms

  • Strong storytelling abilities to distil complex technical content into engaging narratives, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, automation electronics, mechanics, manufacturing and logistics

  • Thorough understanding of digital: what content resonates and how it travels, including but not limited to website, social media and SEO

  • Second to none attention to detail; eagle-eye for proofreading and nuance of language; credentials on ensuring the highest quality output

  • A strong team player who is self-motivated and able to multitask under pressure

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people, inside and outside of the organisation

  • Experience working with creative teams including motion and graphic design

  • Passion for technology innovation and the pioneering work of Ocado Technology.
