The Role:

This role supports the IT Finance Business Partner (FBP) in providing accurate and timely financial information on the Business Technology Portfolio, highlighting risks and opportunities within approved project budgets, and identifying recommendations on how to address them.

The Business Technology Portfolio will encompass both the projects driven by New Look’s 3-year plan and any back-of-house core IT/Digital projects needed to enable them. Under the direction of the IT FBP, the role will deliver the monthly financial reporting across both capital and revenue elements of the portfolio and forecasting cycle of Business Technology project budgets. Reporting, forecasting, analysis & decision-making support is provided through the entire project lifecycle, with customers at the project, programme & portfolio level.

The Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the breadth of Finance’s information requirements for IT projects are satisfied. They will manage the collection and analysis of financial information compliant with Accounting Standards from the Project Managers to various customers in Finance, to include monthly project capital/revenue cost forecasting, preparation of capital additions for financial reporting, supporting external audit testing and providing input into group capital budgeting.

You will use your strong business partnering skills to work closely with all levels of the IT Delivery Team (key relationship with Project Managers) and act as the point of contact for all project finance queries whilst providing financial challenge to the team.

Minimum level of education or qualifications:

Part Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to ‘bring the numbers to life’ for non-Finance customers
  • Must be able to provide analysis and insight at the detailed level, e.g., project schedule level, and at the more strategic level e.g., portfolio
  • Ability to work with (and where necessary, challenge) suppliers of information, applying New Look’s project methodology and associated financial processes
  • Experience in supporting Project & Programme Managers preferable
  • Demonstrable experience in defining and delivering continuous improvement in their field of expertise. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships at all levels to ensure all information flows smoothly to the customers which demand it
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding
  • Ability to summarise detail whilst still retaining key point
  • Intermediate to advanced software literacy is essential, including spreadsheets
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications is required
  • Strong customer focus and ability to manage expectations is required
