Job Description:

Scotland’s Railway covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. We have up to 50 freight services operating every day and we are steadily building capacity for this to grow.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out site visits and energy audits to identify opportunities for energy reduction
  • Supporting the measurement and certification of performance against energy and carbon legislation, standards and objectives
  • Creating and monitoring the implementation of energy reduction plans, standards, procedures and systems
  • Contributing to the development of decarbonisation policy and strategy
  • Analysing data, monitoring and reporting energy and carbon performance, and addressing variances
    developing and maintaining Energy Management Systems and supporting documentation and facilitate continued improvement in performance
  • Implementing and managing energy reduction and renewable energy projects liaising with stakeholders at all levels to achieve energy reduction objectives

Job Requirements:

  • Confident working with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and able to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Proven organisational/process management skills, to include process improvement
  • Experience of working as part of a team, meeting challenging deadlines and managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of working with energy management data systems and carbon emissions calculations methodologies
  • Passionate about sustainability with a desire for Scotland’s Railway to excel in this area
