  • Job Description

Mitie has a great opportunity for The Security Building Manager to join the Total Security Management Team. The Building Manager will be based at Causwayside House Edinburgh.

Contract type: Permanent Contract 52.5 hours per week.

Salary: Circa £28.4k

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Shift timing: from 07:30 until 1800

Hourly Pay rate: £10.40

Main Duties

    • The Building Manager will be Managining Reception, conducting building patrol and safety checks.
    • To be aware of the access control procedures.
    • Be Aware of Fire Alarm Control Panel and intruder alarm panel
    • Any issues must be recorded on the site logbook written and must be reported to The Site Facility Manager.
    • The Building Manager must be vigilant and report and record all suspicious or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services
    • The Building Manager will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive, and approachable at all times when welcoming clients, Tenants and Visitors
    • As the first point of contact for all customers and clients, The Building Manager must have geographical awareness of their local surroundings.
    • All Incidents must be logged according to the site procedure and escalate/Report to the Receptionist and Site Facility Manager.


Person Specification

    • SIA License essential.
    • 5 years of work history Vetting is essential before starting the position.
    • As a job requirement officer must be available to work days nights and weekends.
    • Job Application Includes CV must be submitted with up to date 5 year work history.
    • The Building Manager should be able to work on his own initiative.
    • Flexible Approach to work to suit business needs.
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to operate an online portal and use basic It equipment.
    • Ability to go above and beyond to support the client and visitors
    • Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
    • It is important the Security Officer is calm under pressure.
    • Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
