Job objectives and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of the mechanical/Electrical infrastructure and where applicable

other Mitie Service lines. To be aware of the safe systems of work and its application, performed under the

terms of the MEM contract.

  • Work within a team or on their own and have a total regard for Health and Safety Awareness. To also have

the ability to perform maintenance tasks effectively, efficiently and safely.

  • To seek opportunities to enhance the Company’s relationship with its existing customers and develop

business potential.

  • Ensure that the company HSE values are promoted throughout all areas of activity on site to other members

of the site team and our contractors.

  • That responsibilities outlined are not intended to be exhaustive and other duties maybe required from time

to time.

Main Duties:

  • To assist in delivering those aspects of the Company Performance Contract as they relate to their sites(s)
  • To ensure that he conforms to MITIE and Rolls Royce standards, rules and procedures, giving particular

emphasis to Health Safety Security & Environmental management.

  • To ensure that he is familiar with the site(s) contingency plan to deal with emergency situations.
  • To maintain a good working relationship with customer representatives and work in a manner which ensures

that all aspects of the service agreement between MITIE and the customer are delivered with the requisite

levels of professionalism.

  • To ensure that the site manager is kept well informed of all aspects of safety performance, plant performance

and customer circumstances which may impact upon the safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective operation

of the plant and smooth operation of the contract.

  • To operate and maintain those items of plant assigned to them and diagnose equipment faults as required, in

accordance with Company procedures, maintenance schedules and current best practice.

  • To ensure that all third party contractors who carry out work on the site do so in a safe and professional

manner and abide by the relevant Company procedures and site specific procedures where applicable.

  • To complete all administrative functions correctly and efficiently using appropriate IT software, e.g., PDA

  • To represent the Company well to customers and external agencies, by reasonable dress and demeanour and

ensure the site and all Company property are maintained in a clean and tidy condition.

  • Take responsibility for all relevant orders and deliveries to ensure a satisfactory supply is maintained to deal

with operational requirements

  • To assist in delivering those aspects of the Company Performance Contract as they relate to RR Bristol site.
  • To ensure that all subcontractors conform to MITIE standards, rules and procedures, giving particular emphasis

to Health Safety Security & Environmental management.

  • Along with other MITIE site employees, ensure their area of responsibility is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To be aware of the laws and constraints associated with the site and its activities regarding waste and

consents. Reporting any situation where he/she feels MITIE or the client are operating outside of these.

  • To ensure that all log books/sheets are filled in sufficient detail, and to hand in to the Supervisor /Manager on

time.

  • To support and carry out small works activities.

KEY TASKS:

  • To be responsible for all gas, electricity and water meter readings when they are required
  • To carry out changes to water filters
  • Oil and Greasing on planned maintenance
  • Painting as required
  • Keeping clean and tidy workshop equipment, stores, out buildings and surrounding areas
  • Driving duties as required
  • To maintain and clean company vehicle as required
  • To assist the maintenance and building fabric technicians as required
  • To be willing and able to use the company Maximo FSM task system as a means of day to day working. (PDA

Usage)

  • Participate in adherence to MITIE engineering Maintenance Limited Quality System.
  • To carry out reasonable requests to perform duties which are normal custom and practice in a maintenance

environment

  • To obey MEM company rules and maintain a high standard of discipline and dress.

· To be knowledgeable and up to date in matters relating to Health and Safety. To attend company sponsored training on Health and Safety or technical aspects as requested. · To be willing to undertake training in other trades, i.e., Electrical and Mechanical etc · To carry out filter changes to A/C equipment · Ability to work unsupervised. · And any other tasks which may be required from time to time.

Person Specification:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Basic computer knowledge – desirable
  • Driven to complete tasks above expectations
  • Diligent, professional and intuitive

Health and Safety responsibilities:

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service

delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

Information Security:

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie’s information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
