Early Years Inclusion Consultant Location: Magdalen House Contract: 12 Months Fixed Term, Full time An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our team as an Early Years Inclusion Consultant. The postholder will operate under the direction of the Early Years SEND Team Leader to ensure the Council’s statutory responsibilities for promoting high inclusive practice in Early Years schools and settings; ensuring effective SEND intervention and on-going support is available to children, families, and settings. Working closely with the Early Years SEND Team Leader and the wider Early Years Team the successful candidate will: Support the Early Years SEND Team Leader to raise standards of achievement and improve the quality of teaching for children with SEND, through systematic monitoring and intervention, support and challenge to schools and settings providing education for children 0-5yrs. Support Early Years settings/schools to meet the individual needs of all children, but particularly those at risk of poor outcomes. Promote and develop good inclusive practice in early years settings/schools including supporting multi-agency approaches in working with children with SEND. Help settings work in partnership with parents and children. Carry and maintain a caseload of individual children with SEND providing assessment and advice around evidenced-based interventions through a cycle of Assess- Plan-Do-Review and producing written records of involvement. The postholder must be qualified to degree level and hold QTS, have in-depth knowledge and understanding of Early Years and SEND. With established and evidenced practice as an outstanding practitioner/SENCO in an early years setting, school, MAT or LA setting.
